The annual South Plains Career Expo is the premier career-education event and the largest of its kind in West Texas. It shows students the amazing diversity of the career opportunities in our region, as well as the skills and education needed to pursue those careers.
This year we are celebrating our 23rd year in providing the South Plains Career Expo to over 2,500+ junior and high school students in this region. This event has truly helped many of these students realize the educational and career opportunities available, which has enhanced their career exploration process and the need for becoming college and career ready beyond high school.
The purpose of this event centers on three goals:
- introducing high school students to career opportunities and the education needed to pursue high-wage, high-demand, and/or high-skilled jobs.
- motivate students to continue their education or career training beyond high school; and
- connect employers to their future workforce.
